We had parent-teacher conferences tonight, so I had some time to take some pictures of my classroom. Instead of putting them directly into this blog post, I’m going to share this link to a Facebook album, which is much easier than putting them up twice. I apologize for the extra click, but I really need to get to sleep and wake up at 4:30!
It seems like I’ve been doing a lot of celebrating lately. I got Shake Shack after my first week at my new job as a teacher, and last weekend I went to Denino’s, a delicious pizzeria in Staten Island, to celebrate putting a first payment on a wedding venue. Todd and I had a nice time eating shrimp parmagiana, fried calamari, plain pizza, and meatball onion ricotta pizza with our parents.
Juicy burgers with extra onions and shake sauce. Crinkle-cut fries. Creamy chocolate-vanilla swirl shake. I rarely eat fast food, but I couldn’t pass up the chance to get Shake Shack when I went out to Roosevelt Field mall last weekend. Besides, I had a reason to celebrate: I had completed my first week on my new job!
I didn’t have any reason to go costume shopping the weekend before Halloween, so I decided to run the Haunted Island 5k on Roosevelt Island instead. Though some people got decked out in costume—including my dad—I just settled for wearing my monster hoodie. Todd didn’t have a costume at all, so I didn’t feel too bad. Before the race, Halloween hits blasted out to get runners energized, and the post-race party featured candy and other snacks.
